About
This site is here because of the generosity and kindness of a friend at Cyclonic Consulting. Leah would not have this site without Sue. This is a simple plea from a single mom with a talented, dedicated and wonderful 13 year old equestrian. I don’t know where else to turn except to the kindness and generosity of the global online community. I cannot work any more hours and overtime than I do now without some sleep and time for being a mom.
I have taught and trained my daughter Leah to this point, but her ability is so great that she needs much more than I can give her to enter the serious competitive world. We have networked and saved every penny over the last few years and she is now working with a wonderful trainer, Terry Adcock at Oakdale Equestrian Center who can start her down the path she deserves to be on. Leah has been through a lot in the past few years including a divorce and the loss of two dearly beloved grandparents, and her pony and their accomplishments have been her lifeline. She has trained him since he was an unruly 3 year old and she an 8 year old. They are inseparable, talented and a heartwarming team. Her dream is to earn a scholarship to college where there is a competitive equestrian team and eventually be a part of the United States Olympic Eventing Team. Lastly, Leah dreams of having a farm where abused and neglected horses can come to for a safe haven and rehab. My dream is to unite these same horses with abused and neglected children from lesser socio and economic backgrounds so both can teach each other to re-learn trust and faith and flourish from the deep and amazing relationships one can have between the nobility of horses and the love of human beings.
Leah has mucked stalls, moved hay, fed horses, worked hard, bought second hand clothing and saved every holiday and birthday check in her savings account. She volunteers for the United States Equestrian Rescue League. Currently, she is riding, training and competing young event horses for Oakdale. Once, she spent the night in her pony’s stall in the dead of winter, in a snow storm when he became very ill with a fever, giving him water and ice cubes from her hand to help him stay hydrated. She was a 4–H’er with high standings, competing for her club at the local and state level and worked on her Horsemaster project book. She is smart and articulate — speaking on horse related subjects in both Public Speaking and Presentation competitions, winning her division two years running.
Leah is a beautiful, gifted and passionate equestrian and she should have the chance to try and go for it and not be halted because we are not wealthy. Her trainer has told me that Leah has the rare combination of real talent, athleticism and competitive drive. Often one comes without the other.
Please help Leah have the chance to try and go all the way. Adopt her with your sponsorships and watch her grow, perfect new skills, compete and climb up the graded horse show levels. Watch her lose and fight back. Most of all, watch her win.
My Partner!

This is my pony Mac or Legally Mac as he is known in the show ring. My big sister found him while she was working at the race track in West Virginia. He did not cost very much money, he was only 3 years old, very green…actually he knew nothing and he became my 9th birthday present. Now, 3 years later he is my partner, my best friend, my love bug and the best pony ever. We have worked hard together to get where we are today. I am lucky to be able to ride other peoples horses for them which teaches me to be an even better rider, but Mac is my partner. Here are some pictures of my guy.
