North Carolina Horse Expo

Hey! This is Leah! I’m sorry it took me a little while to put up a new post with pictures, but I haven’t had much time! Today {7-17-08} my horse got an eye infection and I was frightened. He does have allergies but even my trainer doesn’t exactly know what it could be. Well this past weekend {from Friday the 11 – Sunday the 13} I was in North Carolina riding in the Horse Expo.

I was riding for Liz Booth, who owns Virginia Sport Horses, and she put me back on Seamus, the 18HH horse, and we did awesome! Seamus and I got to go in the Horse Idol with two other girls, and Seamus and I took the lead. We had to make up a course on the flat on the spot. Seamus is very willing. I would like to thank Liz Booth for letting me ride her horses. I also got to ride Fiona in a clinic with Colleen Kelly, a dressage trainer, on circles and half passes and how every little move you make to the side {going off balance} can move your horse. Even a small 12 year old girl, me, can make a 17HH horse move in a second. I learned a lot from Colleen Kelly and I also would like to thank her for teaching me all the things she did. Thanks Colleen!

For those of you who are a fan of western/speed then I got to ride in another clinic with Julie Goodnite about balance and circles. Julie also rides hunter, grew up riding hunter, but now she prefers to ride western. She helped me learn many things and if anyone else gets the same chance I did with all these trainers {or even one of them} let me know and tell me how you liked it! Now I am ready to go train my horse with all these things I learned from all these trainers and have a fun time doing it! Again I would like to thank Julie for teaching me such cool things! Thanks guys! You all are a great help in my training toward the Olympics!

Oh, soon I’m going to post the video {once we edit it} and you guys can see what I worked on! Thanks for all your help and looking at my site and how much I need help!

your friend
Leah!
